BUILT-INS DASHBOARD

Structural and material breakdown for the monolithic pantry, appliance garage, and high-vent refrigerator surround.

Soffit Limit 93.0" Flush to top plate
Thermal Vent 2.0" Hidden rear chimney
Core Material 3/4" Ply Heavy-duty frameless
Scribe Curve 3.5" Dome wall contour fit

Zone Widths

Horizontal breakdown of the 122.5" wall space.

The Thermal Chimney

Convective cooling path for fridge compressor.

Upper Cab
2" GAP
FRIDGE
Compressor

Physics Principle: Hot air from the compressor rises naturally. By keeping a 2" gap behind the upper cabinet, air escapes over the top, pulling cool air from the floor up behind the fridge.

Material Cut Yield

Distribution of the 5 Sanded Plywood sheets.

The Bondo Edge Strategy

1

Butter the Edges

Apply Original Bondo generously along the raw, exposed plywood edges of the pantry, shelving, and arched portal. Ensure it pushes into any voids.

2

Knife Trim (10 Min)

While the Bondo is "rubbery" and semi-cured, use a putty knife to shear off the excess perfectly flush with the wood faces. Do not let it fully harden yet.

3

Block Sand (30 Min)

Once fully hardened, block sand with 120-grit, then 220-grit. The result is a seamless, glass-smooth edge ready for high-quality enamel paint, eliminating iron-on banding.

Assembly Milestones

  • Assemble Fridge Surround Box (76.5" Shelf Height)
  • Cut Above-Fridge Back Panel 2" Short (Chimney)
  • Frame Pantry Carcass (20" Wide)
  • Install Fixed Shelf at 36" (Appliance Garage Deck)
  • Route Arched Portal from Scrap Template
  • Jigsaw Left 3.5" Scribe Strip to Match Dome Curve
